Question 6

Below is an image of one of the Nikon D3300 DSLR cameras we used to film our thriller opening, along with the handheld camera, however this was primarily used just as a prop. I had some prior experience with this equipment but not a lot, I had only ever used one for taking photographs, not filming. We didn't really have any issues surrounding the use of the camera as me and Jess both had some knowledge of what to do.
Here is the logo of Premiere Pro, the main editing software that we used. Our group as a whole lacked knowledge in the editing department which meant that we had to refer to YouTube tutorials in order to make our opening more mysterious by adding sound effects like the heartbeat as well as mixing in a soundtrack, green screens for the point of view shots and changing the colour saturation on the majority of shots to achieve a washed out effect that is more suitable for the thriller genre. As another part of our editing, we had to use Photoshop for the end of the opening where Raven Black's face appears, the face that appears was originally an image just to see the make up in its different stages. We had to edit out the background to make it black look like it was just her face alone, again, both me and Jess had prior experience with this programme.

Here is one of the tutorials we watched on how to import a green screen. We used a green screen to add the effect that made the audience feel like they were filming it themselves, from one of the characters point of view.
